The following Privacy Policy governs the processing of personal data by Malaysian Danish Business Council a Public Company Limited by Guarantee and without a share capital under The Company Act 2016 Malaysia, as well as processing of personal data by our affiliates and associated companies (“we” or “us”).

The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to specify which categories of personal data We collect through our business activities, our websites mdbc.org.my subdomains and/or folders, applications, tools, services and any other means relating to information or communication, including emails (hereinafter collectively referred to as the “Services” or “Activities”); how it processed and disclosed to others and how it safeguarded.

We, the Malaysian Danish Business Council (“we”, “us” or “MDBC”) provide a network to build opportunities for Danish, international and local organisations in Malaysia with ties to Danish business, we encourage trade and investment in Malaysia and the Asia-Pacific region and we provide our members with practical support and advice, delivered via a range of scheduled activities to share knowledge and expertise.

We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us, so please read it carefully. By using our services, participating as a member or attending our events, you consent to your information being processed by us in the manner described in this Privacy Policy.

In many instances, the information we collect may be “business contact information” (i.e. your name, position name or title, business telephone number, business address, business email address or similar information, not provided solely for personal purposes). MDBC will use all reasonable efforts to observe the terms of this Privacy Policy in respect of business contact information. The protection of and respect to your information is important to us.

3.2.1 We may collect and process the following information about you:

  • Information that you provide during the registration process for MDBC and copies of any documents you provide to us;
  • Your MDBC contact details;
  • If you are a speaker or an attendee at any of our events, we may collect information about your participation at our events (e.g. number of events spoken at/attended, type of events you speak at/attend).

3.2.2 We use cookies on our website to distinguish you from other users of our website.

For existing and new members or contacts of MDBC, when we contact you, we will provide you with an unsubscribe facility, in case you decide that you do not want to be contacted again. We share your information with other users, members, and selected third parties of MDBC to facilitate communication, networking and business opportunities (for example, if you have expressed an interest in business opportunities, we may share your details with a connected organisation). Any information you upload to your profile and/or post on our website may be visible to our personnel and other users of our website.We may disclose your information to third parties:

  • where partners help us in the administration or operation of our organisation (e.g. our hosting/back-up service providers, our IT service providers and our marketing service providers); and

Where our partners who help us in the administration or operation of our organisation are based in other locations, your information may be transferred outside of Malaysia.  We will ensure that any such third parties have reasonable security arrangements in place.  We may also transfer your information outside of Malaysia in relation to business opportunities but we would only do this with your consent.

The security of your information is important to us. We maintain appropriate and reasonable security arrangements to prevent unauthorised access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal or similar risks. However, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information provided to us via the Internet, and any transmission is at your own risk.
